Young Biblical Entrepreneur™ - Nehemiah Entrepreneurship Community

Young Biblical Entrepreneur™

The Young Biblical EntrepreneurTM (YBE) program is a Christian entrepreneurship program that prepares students ages 11–18 for real world business challenges by teaching them the value of teamwork, biblical ethics and taking an idea from conception to development for profit. The program helps students create Kingdom businesses God’s way.

Check out this video to hear what Christian educators and students in the Portland metro area are saying about the Young Biblical Entrepreneurship program, a new curriculum that offers Christian business training and entrepreneurship education to middle and high school students.

  • Instruction centered on Biblical Entrepreneurship
  • Business games that demonstrate the value of the free market and the positive impact of trade on society
  • Biblical application for their day-to-day lives regarding God’s commands for earning money, stewardship, leadership, and healthy competition
  • Coaching and mentoring by executives and owners of local Kingdom businesses
  • Participation in a Mini Business Plan Competition to earn cash prizes

YBE is offered in partnership with Christian schools, churches, and organizations. The program may be implemented as an in-school course or in a camp format. Teachers are certified through the Nehemiah Entrepreneurship Community.

And He said to them, “Why did you seek Me? Did you not know that I must be about My father’s business?”

According to the U.S. Department of Labor, nearly “80 percent of would-be entrepreneurs in the United States are between the ages of 18 and 34.” A 2005 poll from Junior Achievement (JA) found that 68.6% of the teenagers interviewed wanted to become entrepreneurs, even though they knew that it would not be an easy path. In spite of this overwhelming interest, however, youth rarely receive any information about entrepreneurship as a career option. In addition, they stated: “Entrepreneurship education offers a solution. It seeks to prepare people, particularly youth, to be responsible, enterprising individuals who become entrepreneurs or entrepreneurial thinkers by immersing them in real life learning experiences where they can take risks, manage the results and learn from the outcomes.”
