Nehemiah Entrepreneurship Community Statement of Faith

We believe in one God who exists in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Matt. 28:19, Luke 3:22, 1 John 5:7).

We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God to man and is the infallible and authoritative rule of faith and practice (2 Tim. 3:15-17; 1 Thess. 2:13, 2 Pet. 1:21).

We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, sinless life, and sacrificial death; His glorious resurrection, exaltation and soon return (Matt. 1:23, Heb. 7:26, 1 Cor. 5:21, Matt 28:6, 1 Cor. 15:4, Phil. 2:9-11).

We believe in salvation by grace through faith in the shed blood of Jesus. This salvation is received through repentance and submission to Jesus as Lord and Savior (Eph. 2:8-9, Rom. 10:8-11, Titus 3:4-7).

We believe that water baptism by immersion is commanded in Scripture as an outward expression of an inward work. It is a declaration to the world that the believer has died and risen with Christ to walk in newness of life. All who repent and believe in Christ as Lord and Savior should be baptized (Matt. 28:19, Acts 10:47, Rom. 6:4).

We believe that the Lord’s Supper, or Holy Communion, is a symbol of our union with Christ and partaking of His divine nature, a memorial of His suffering and death and a prophecy of His second coming (2 Pet. 1:4, 1 Cor. 11:26).

We believe that Kingdom impact will come only through the activity of the Holy Spirit empowering the believer. We recognize that the Holy Spirit endows the believer with power for life, witness and service and will be manifested in the life of the believer through a more active love for Christ, His Word and the lost, a deepened reverence for God, an intensified dedication to His work as well as supernatural experiences. We recognize the baptism of the Holy Spirit and the admonition to be filled with the Spirit (Acts 1:4,8, 2:1-4, 4:31, 1Cor. 12).

We believe in the relevance and the role of the local church as one of the key instruments for ministry accountability and the fulfillment of the great commission.

Scripture provides no basis for an independent ministry outside of the Church. The Lord Jesus Christ has established the Church to be the instrument through which His work is carried out. It is our belief that every independent ministry, as well as every born-again believer, must be affixed and attached to a Bible-believing, Bible-teaching church. An example of this can be seen in the ministry of the Apostle Paul: although his ministry did not begin in Jerusalem, he was submitted to the church in Jerusalem. The CSO along with the NPIM Board and the HQ Chaplain are responsible for identifying each year the church that serves as the spiritual oversight of Nehemiah Project.

We believe that every individual is created in the image and likeness of God with the ability to know him through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and to know his or her calling, gifts and skills, and is responsible to faithfully live to fulfill God’s plan for his or her life through the stewardship of the talents that God has placed under his or her care.

We believe that the laws and ordinances and civil leaders come from God’s ultimate authority and should be upheld and submitted to unless they are in opposition to the revealed will of God (Romans 13:1-5).
