Trustworthiness is at the heart of everything a Proverbs 31 woman does to support her family and make a difference in the world around her. Trustworthiness is the defining virtue, the foundational value, and the essential choice that makes it possible for everything else in the chapter to shine forth. To gain a clear understanding of how to develop trustworthiness in our lives, we first need to understand what this means according to Biblical ethics.
Trustworthiness is the quality of an individual that ensures dependability, credibility, and truthfulness and it is very important in every aspect of our lives. Not just for our businesses but our families as well.
There are many things that people usually remember about us and trustworthiness is one of them. If you are a trustworthy person, your relationships are always built on trust and love which are even applied in your businesses. Whether or not we like the criticism we are likely to get from our customers, entrepreneurs need to remember that these honest reports help us do and be better for our customers. Your customers need to know that they can trust you with whatever feedback they are giving you.
Trustworthiness can also mean disagreeing without being disagreeable. It may be difficult for some people to listen to another point of view as they may feel their way is the only way, but we need not waver from the truth.
Also, when you think no one else can see, is that what you say and what you do in public? Are you the same person? A trustworthy person does not have an integrity gap. They are true to themselves and God even when the situation is tough. They do not compromise. If you are not true to yourself as you portray yourself to others that means that you are a hypocrite and eventually your true self will show.
Becoming trustworthy like the Proverbs 31 woman means showing up time and time again. It means praying for someone when you say you’re going to pray for them, it means attending the Bible study. When you say, and then be present, a trustworthy woman is true to her word.
As a business person, you must deliver as per the customer’s needs and expectations because once the trust is broken; it is not easy to redeem. Always work with honesty, trustworthiness, and integrity.
All in all, we must always lean into the holy spirit though, for guidance to be worthy of God’s trust in the assignment and the work that he has set aside for us to do. We know that we will always fall short. We’re not going to be perfect at it. And, and God knows this, but he is there to get us back onto the course, to forgive us, and to continue to show us how to do our best.
