Now that you are at breakeven, it is time to proceed to the fourth stage of the Nehemiah Business Life Cycle, Profitability. The profitability stage is the season when the business is achieving profit margins consistently over time, while generating a quadruple bottom line (people, planet, profit, and eternal impact). You are consistently making more than you spend, and you are doing it in a way that honors the Lord.
This is evidence that the market has embraced your business idea, and it also demonstrates your good stewardship. Without profit, you do not have the ability to keep going, continue to improve your business, reward your employees, invest in the Kingdom, and pay your stockholders a market-adjusted rate of return. This includes yourself, the primary investor in the business. We recommend that you set out to be in the Profitability Stage within the first five years of business operations.
KEY CONSIDERATIONS
- Is your business currently profitable, and if not, are you assured that profitability is attainable?
- What strategic measures are you implementing to ensure the continued profitability of your business?
